It would be nice to think that the Jesuits' move to Melbourne in the 1960s was from beginning to end inspired by a pure and farsighted commitment to ecumenical education. But of course the path was more winding than that.

40th Anniversary of the United Faculty of Theology
The United Faculty of Theology was formed in May 1969, and celebrations were held this year to mark the 40th anniversary of this ecumenical institution. In the United Faculty Uniting Church, Anglican and Jesuit scholars and students work together, with others who join them, in the common enterprise of theological education.
