LL Focus – Uniting Church Leadership

The Uniting Church recognises the organic and evolving nature of leadership in contexts of challenge and times of change. Participation in this Living Leadership Focus: Uniting Church Leadership intensive will build your capacity, insight and resilience for leadership in your context.

Whilst noting that many aspects of leadership are shared across organisations, Living Leadership Focus: Uniting Church Leadership focuses specifically on leadership within the Uniting Church context. Drawing on the theology, history and life of the Uniting Church in Australia, as well as the Basis of Union, areas to be explored include

• Key UCA foundations
• Ethical leadership and teaching
• An inter-cultural and inter-generational church
• Shared leadership in ministry, mission and discipleship
• Inter-related nature of UCA and the roles of each UCA council
• Communal discernment, consensus processes, UCA practices and processes

Living Leadership Focus: Uniting Church Leadership is specifically offered for:

• Elders/Church Council members, chairpersons and secretaries, pastors and ministers;
• Regional leaders including presbytery members, officers and ministers;
• Leaders and members of local teams, groups and committees:
• Leaders from culturally and linguistically diverse communities;
• Active leaders in local rural/regional communities;
• Ministry candidates and emerging lay leaders;
• Anyone interested in learning more about the Uniting Church leadership model.
