President's ministers conference

Consider attending one of the Presidents conference as part of your continuing education in 2011. They are a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues from across Australia, engage with the contextual issue of each conference and be inspired by Jenny Tymms' leadership on the theme.  I hope to see you at one of the conferences next year.  Jenny Tymms is an ordained minister who is currently the Presbytery Minister for Pilgrim Presbytery of Northern Australia.  Previously She was the General Secretary of the Queensland Synod.  She is someone who has thought deeply about faith, spirit and the church in these changing times.

Ministry in a time of transition’ will be the theme of a series of National Ministers’ Conferences’ convened by the President in 2011. Building on the success of the Conferences in 2008, Rev. Alistair Macrae hopes the conferences will equip and encourage ministers in this ‘between-the-times’ era in church history. The conferences will be held in Vanuatu, Alice Springs and Adelaide.

I was lucky enough to go to the President's Conference in Bali in 2008.  It was a great opportunity to spend time with colleagues from around the country, get to know a little of the work of the church in another part of the world and be stimulated and challenged by great lectures and presentations.  I'm sure the next round of conferences will be as good as the first ones I hope to see you at one of the conferences next year.
