Uniting through Faith
From 26 February to 20 March 2009, the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania will host Uniting through Faith, an Interfaith engagement tour encompassing Uniting Church congregations and schools, universities, interfaith groups and Islamic institutions across Victoria and Tasmania.
The tour will deeply engage participants in a range of formal activities, including forums and lectures, as well as informal activities such as gatherings over meals, day trips and retreats.
The fourteen Indonesian participants in the tour have been selected for their leadership experience in interfaith dialogue between Christian and Muslim communities in Indonesia, and for the personal qualities and experience that they bring to the process of interfaith dialogue.
A select group of Australian participants have been invited to join the tour in recognition of their deep engagement with interfaith dialogue. The intensive involvement of these persons will significantly enhance the mutual learning and understanding that will be achieved through this engagement.
The Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania will work in collaboration with Christian and Islamic groups, multifaith organisations and educational institutions to maximise the potential benefit of the tour to all particpants.
