DSCDaniel Smith-Christopher

The book of Isaiah presents us with challenging problems, and provocative ideas.  Among the more provocative ideas is the commitment to social justice as dedication to God, the challenge to be open to foreigners and ³others² as equally acceptable to God, and a radical commitment to hope in the midst of crisis.

Daniel L. Smith-Christopher is a professor in the Department of Theological Studies and a director of Peace Studies at Loyola Marymount University.

rachaelkohnRachael Kohn

Rachael Kohn is the producer and presenter of The Spirit of Things and The Ark on Radio National. Born in Canada, she graduated with a PhD in Religious Studies from McMaster University She has written several books including The New Believers: Re-imagining God. Before joining the ABC in 1992, she taught Religious Studies at Sydney University and in universities in England and Canada.  She is a lively, thoughtful and engaging presenter.

MarkBrettMark Brett

Mark Brett has been Professor of Old Testament at Whitley College since 1992, and as an expression of his long-standing commitment to reconciliation, he served as the Policy Officer for Native Title Services Victoria from 2005 to 2008.  Having been raised in Papua New Guinea, his biblical and hermeneutical publications have focussed primarily on questions of culture, ethnicity and postcolonial studies. His most recent book is Decolonizing God: The Bible in the Tides of Empire (2008).
