A unique Continuing Education opportunity from Pilgrim Theological College at the NGV:

Do you use art as a way of engaging your community/congregation in liturgy or preaching and teaching? Or would you like to use art more readily to enhance your church’s life and witness, but are not confident in how to do this?  Art is a powerful medium through which to understand both our surrounding culture and the faith of the church, and how those aspects relate to each other.

2nd Biennial History Conference

Uniting Church National History Society

What does it mean to belong to the Uniting Church? Many grew up Congregationalist, Methodist or Presbyterian. Others have grown up in the Uniting Church. Some have only ever known the Uniting Church as their spiritual home and others have transferred in from other denominations. What does it mean to find a home in a church that describes itself as Evangelical and Reformed and is at the same time committed to theological diversity?

At the heart of the Church lies a call to mission, to engage with the world. Dr Wells affirms the world as part of the kingdom, the sphere of
the Spirit’s work beyond the Church. With the introduction of the welfare state, the Church retreated from social engagement and “by concentrating on personal faith and spirituality, the churches denied themselves the lifeblood that social engagement had long given them” (For Good: The Church and the Future of Welfare).
