It was last held in Western Sydney in January 2014, and have previous rotated around Australia’s capital cities & regional areas. Yuróra 2017 is a Festival for young people 16-25 years old from the Uniting Church, partner churches and their friends.
Yuróra is a Dharug word from the Burrumattagal peoples– the first people of the land in North Parramatta where NCYC will be held. Yuróra means ‘passionate’ and we are grateful for the permission of the elders to use this word. We pay our respects and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet, and also pay respect to Elders both past and present.
The logo for 2017 was inspired by a drawing by Joyce Waia, a young indigenous woman from Queensland.
