A unique Continuing Education opportunity from Pilgrim Theological College at the NGV:
Do you use art as a way of engaging your community/congregation in liturgy or preaching and teaching? Or would you like to use art more readily to enhance your church’s life and witness, but are not confident in how to do this? Art is a powerful medium through which to understand both our surrounding culture and the faith of the church, and how those aspects relate to each other.
(Classes Thursdays 1- 5pm on May 2, 9, 16, 23, Sept 5, 12 & Oct 17)
This is a three-day program designed to give you an introduction to the key concepts and practices of ministering with congregations and agencies in times of transition. (Isn’t that all of them nowadays?). While it is a stand-alone program, it is also the first phase of training that leads to being qualified as an Intentional Interim Minister. Thus, it is useful for anyone in lay or ordained ministry who is dealing with change, transition and new opportunities, and also for those exploring a call to Intentional Interim Ministry.
With Rev Jay Robinson, representatives from the Synod comms unit, and input from ministers about their adoption and use of social media in their ministry.
“Social media for beginners: no question too simple”
Are you wanting to learn more about the pitfalls and wonders of Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram, etc? Are you wondering what makes an effective church website?
Come and explore how and why we might – or might not – adopt various forms of
social media for mission and communication in different ministry contexts.
